the HX471S. The HX471S even allows you to monitor the AM Aeronautical band. Simply
put, the HX471S allows you to monitor a range of frequencies previously unavailable in
any Portable Marine VHF! Packaged with a 1300mA Lithium-Ion battery, the HX470S will
deliver 10-12 hours of operation off a single charge. In addition the Lithium-Ion battery
never will develop a "memory" inhibiting it's ability to deliver a complete day of service.
Attaching either 110VAC or 12VDC cable to the NMEA Charging Cradle allows the
Lithium-Ion battery to be rapid charged within 3 hours. Since the HX471S can be legally
used while on water or land, STANDARD HORIZON has included a unique Distress
Beacon. The HX471S features a high intensity stobe. Allowing you to visually signal a
rescue party 1 mile or more away.

settings of 2.5 Watts and 1 Watt. The HX460S utilizes a high impact, non-corrosive die-cast case
and chassis. This unique case insures the HX460S will withstand the physical abuse a
Handheld VHF receives from being dropped or banged on the deck of a boat. Using the HX460S
in the rain or in a life boat is not a issue as it can take submersions of 3' for 30 minutes. A
whooping 1100 mAh Lithium-ion battery is standard equipment with the HX460S. The
lithium-ion Battery provides extended hours of operation between charges. Unlike other
rechargeable batteries, Lithium-ion batteries do not develop a memory when charged before
being completely discharged. Additionally, our Lithium-ion battery will hold its charge even when
the radio is unused for months longer than a traditional NiCad. When it is time to recharge you
battery, the 110VAC or 12VDC quick charger (3 hours or less) will get you back on the air quickly.
Finally, there is no surprise when the battery does require a charge: The HX460S features a
unique battery life indicator on the LCD that workd like a dynamic "gas guage," indicating when
the battery needs to be charged. Although the HX460S is small in overall size, it features a large
LCD window with tall, wide digits and bold information flags that are easy to read and identify.
Both the LCD and the keypad are backlit for best visibility at night.
